Day 94 - Female Anna's Hummingbird

Some of our neighbors have hummingbird feeders and this one seems to be very hip-happening. They must have some special juice in there. :) I'm sure I looked strange sitting out on their steps with my long lens waiting for one to show up.  Thanks to the hubs for the bird ID.

This is an amazing shot! My mom keeps about about 10 hummingbird feeders filled at her house, and loves sitting and watching them. Is there any way I could get a print of this for her? I would definitely pay you for it. It would go so good in her dining room! Email me and let me know what you think.

Well, this was well worth the wait. You could send this one in to Birds and Blooms magazine. they are so fast, it is difficult to capture them so clearly. Good job!

Oh my! That is amazing! SO jealous that you got that shot. I have one of those feeders but never put it up. I might just have to now that I saw this. Guess I need to invest in a longer lens too! :)

Wow!!! Amazing shot and focus on that fast bird! THis is magazine worthy or an entry for something. It's beautiful. I tried getting a shot like this last year, but was unsuccessful. Maybe this year. Any tips?

Wow, amazing 'action' shot. You really got him in flight which is pretty amazing considering how fast hummingbirds move their wings.

Wonderful shot! I was just saying to my husband this morning that I had to get the hummingbird feeder ready for their return. I've never seen that type of hummingbird before.

These guys are definitely not easy to capture. I've seen lots of not-so-good shots of them! Yours is really excellent - lots of detail in the hummer's body and a perfect amount of motion blur in the wings. Love it!

So glad you entered this photo, it's amazing!!!

That is awesome! I can't wait for our hummingbird feeder to go up so I can sit and wait for one!
Beautiful focus- that must have been a difficult shot to get!

Such a awesome catch, these little hummingbirds are so very fast and flitty.

I am hoping to get to the a garden which is their stop off place during migration. I understand there are 1000s of these little guys there on a given day.

What a sight for sore birder's eyes! I was going to say that it's good to meet a fellow female birder until I saw that your husband IDed her ;-) Makes me miss hummingbird season in Arizona.
