I actually don't even know this couple but I just imagine that they have known each other since they were eights years old, grew up on farms, were the best of friends, married when they were 18 and have been married for a gazillion years. I couldn't resist capturing this sweet moment of this elderly couple as they consulted each other while pouring over their map of the Zoo. It just melted my heart.
Speaking of taking pictures of people you don't know, I have finally decided which direction my blog is going to go next year. I will still be posting random pictures throughout the year but I have decided I want the theme of my blog to be "What's Your Story?" I was going to just do stories of other bloggers but I have decided to expand it to strangers I meet out and about. Because I am so
nosy curious, I am always dying to ask people their stories and I have decided to make it my goal this coming year to meet as many new people as possible and ask them if I can take their picture and share their story. I came up with the idea a while ago and then read about a Flickr group called 100 strangers that has the same general idea and I decided I am not going to give myself a limit or even a goal of how many people I am going to photograph. I am going to go easy on myself this next year and just enjoy it. I haven't decided if I will do a weekly post or what. We shall see, but I am so excited to finally have another direction to take my blog in. Hope you will still follow and feel free to join in. If I see interest in taking on this challenge I may open it up as a link up.
3 more days!.....

First of all, I love the picture! I make up stories about people too. And, gosh, don't you just love elderly couples?
I thought about joining the Flickr group but I don't know if I'm that brave or that talented yet but I look forward to seeing your pics in the coming year.
This is a beautiful and very touching capture.
And I think your idea for 2012 is wonderful!
Have a happy and safe New Years!
Sweet capture!
Love your picture. I started a 100 Strangers project over a year ago and I've only done 28. I don't have any problems asking someone if I can take their picture; it's asking them permission to publish it on the Internet that I find difficult (although no one has ever refused). I'll be interested to follow along on your journey.
You've captured a "story" in this image. It is delightful and can be interpreted in many ways.
Good luck with your new direction. It sounds fascinating. I'll be watching.
LOVE this image. And your story reminds me of my grandparents who met at 13 and 14.
Sounds like a wonderful idea!
This picture caught my eye! I am drawn to photos like this and try to imagine people's story's also- that's what's great about people watching trying to figure it out- I love your new project for next year -it is inspiring me to try something different for my blog next year also - and this is a great theme- I am so looking forward to your posts now- its refreshing to know its a new year - and trying to get all the projects in mind! Have a happy new years!
This is a wonderful image Misty!
I wish you a very Happy New Year.
Love the image, your "story" says it all and what great new and exciting plans you have for your blog in 2012. I have always found it interesting to shoot strangers but have never asked for their background story. Maybe you have inspired me!!
"A picture is worth a thousand words".....what a fantastic capture!
So much emotion (at least for me).....well done!
Happy New Year!
What a great capture! It definitely speaks volumes. I like your idea of where this blog is going and will be sure to follow along to see what you discover!
Excellent idea! I have also wanted to post more stranger stories. I only had the courage to approach one stranger last year while he was fishing...but it has turned out to be one of my favorite pics from this year. I am planning on being more courageous this next year. :D Looking forward to following your new direction!
Lovely photo Misty and I would love to still follow along on your journey...your new idea sounds wonderful.
What an adorable photo - I bet they would love to see it. Great new idea for your blog, looking forward to the new stories!
Looking forward to your 2012 idea and this photo is wonderful. I'm not very aggressive when it comes to approaching strangers but I have found that walking about with a camera in my hand has opened up some interesting conversations with people that have crossed my path. Onward to 2012!
Great shot, and love that idea of capturing strangers and finding out their story. I like doing that too, and have really met some fun people. Will look forward to your captures!
I love the picture and I think what your going to do is great. Can't wait
Beautiful!Just Beautiful!
Love this! It reminds me of my grandparents. And I love your idea. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Love this Misty, their hats and the map! Cool project!
