Day 6 - Fishing

'All that is outdoors' best describes my husband. One of his many hobbies is fishing. While many fisherman may enjoy taking a boat out into the middle of a lake or ocean to cast their line, the hubs prefers remote streams most of all. He has caught many a wild beauty over the years and since he most often prefers catch and release he has watched those same beauts grow up into bigger ones.

A beautiful collection of fishing gear and a wonderful composition1 I love how the colors in the leurs stand out!

I agree - very nice composition and color. Some of those lures look like they'd make nice earrings too!

While i don't fish I do like looking at fishing equipment, particularly lures. There is one in your photo that looks like a little shark, and I like the eye on the one in the lower left, looking up at you.

Nice display - would make a great shot in marketing!

Very nicely done! My hubby too is an outdoors-loving guy!

giseled - that is so funny. I actually keep all my earrings in a plano box where you would normally keep lures because I have so many pairs.

Steven - I only fish occasionally but I agree the lures are pretty to look at. The bright gold one in the top right hand corner of the box is my fave though. Not because of the color but because I almost always catch fish with it.

M Coleman - Well...if you know of anyone....lol

Sandra - our hubs would get along nicely. :)

Hi Misty! Thanks for visiting my blog and introducing yourself. I'm not ambitious enough to do a 365 but am thrilled to follow those like yourself who are!

Great, great photographs!

Nice variety in your shot. You could probably do some really interesting macros with some of his lures, hooks and other equipment. Maybe you could get some 'catch of the day' pics too.

Hi Misty,

I saw your link on the 365 thread at Elements Village and came to check out your blog. I love your style and like how you use light - artificial and natural - to get the look you want. I'll be following you on your 365 adventure.

I'm not doing a 365 challenge this year but am blogging nevertheless and welcome you to stop by my blog...

Forgot to say also, my 13-year-old is an avid fisherman but also a catch and release guy. I love the peace and quiet of sitting with him on the dock while he fishes.

Monica - Thanks for stopping by. It's always fun to follow other photographers.

Shelley - I always love the variety of your shots and the many macro shots. Good idea on the lures. The nice thing about having 365 days and that I have so many options. :)

Julie - I stopped by your blog and commented. It's always so nice to see young people take up outdoor activities too. My hubs is looking forward to taking my daughter out when she is old enough.

Kelly - I always appreciate your encouragement.

Misty- I agree with M Coleman- I could just picture this in an "outdoor adventure" catalog or magazine! Nice use of color and composition!

What a colorful display! But where's the tangled fishing line? The rusty hooks? The half-disintegrated plastic worms??? This does NOT look like my tackle box!

Great photo. Some of those goodies can be found in my hubby's fish gear stash; and I see a Cabela's catalog. Have a bucketload of those around here too. :D

Kristy - Thanks! It would be great to some day be in demand for something like that.

Kim2900 - Trust me, the hubs as a messy backpack with all that stuff. The OCD part of me grabbed the most organized stuff to photograph. He has his lures separated on what area he will be fishing.

Kimandrews - We seem to get a Cabela's catalog every other day. I can only imagine how much it costs them to send out the big hard bound books. We get them in for my hubs AND for me.

That looks like stuff my husband does too. He loves the outdoors.
