She LOVES doggies. Whenever she sees one she says "Hi, doggie" and waves. It takes her a minute to warm up and actually pet one. I think she feels them out first. Smart kid. :)

My Photo Adventures

Scott has such a gift for capturing incredible details on insects. Another stunning image! It's been pointed out to me a couple different times that it's definitely obvious I have an infatuation with insects. lol :) It does seem to be a trend with my favorite pics. I just know how hard they are to capture so I am so impressed with those who have a gift for it like Scott.

The zoo must pump some serious steroids into these flowers. :) They are massive!

Day 271 - Immature Male Anna's Hummingbird

I pulled over to the side of the road to get a shot of the Mexican Sage bushes and was delighted to find about 5 hummingbirds flying around. I was so wishing I had my 70-200mm lens since they are very skiddish and don't let you get close at all. Thankfully I was able to hide behind the bush and capture this guy with my 18-135mm. With a little cropping I am quite pleased with the results!

Day 270 - Fall Preview

If I would have known how easy it was to add textures I would have done this ages ago! Now I can legitimately participate in The Daily Wyatt's Texture Thursday. I found this helpful video tutorial and now I'm a texture adding genius! Well, not really, but hey, this was fun. I downloaded a bunch of free textures from The Coffee Shop Blog and can't wait to start using them. Does anyone else have a special folder with awesome tutorials bookmarked. I go to that folder for all the time and am constantly adding new ones. It's amazing all the free tutorials there are out there.

As my daughter and I were leaving the library today, I saw this leaf on the ground. I didn't have my camera with me, so I brought it home and put it on the patio. Hey, sometimes you have to improvise, right. I didn't want to miss out on capturing a fall leaf, so I just grabbed one so I would have it when I had access to my camera. :)

As we were out for a hike, some mountain bikers topped the hill before us and dumped their bikes against the fence to enjoy the nice overlook. Made for a great photo op!
