Day 271 - Immature Male Anna's Hummingbird

I pulled over to the side of the road to get a shot of the Mexican Sage bushes and was delighted to find about 5 hummingbirds flying around. I was so wishing I had my 70-200mm lens since they are very skiddish and don't let you get close at all. Thankfully I was able to hide behind the bush and capture this guy with my 18-135mm. With a little cropping I am quite pleased with the results!

and then, she {snapped} the long road

beautifully captured!
We used to have an Anna's hummingbird outside the window of our apartment but one day he flew away and never came back.
It is tough to get them on camera!

You always find the coolest stuff to shoot! I was thinking of you today because I revisited my July folder looking for some shots for my Quarterly Top 5. I sure had a lot of fun that day and miss you!

Yes, those little guys are hard to capture! I just a few days ago noticed that I have some wild morning glory growing or should I say wandering through my garden. Then this morning I saw a hummer but he got startled and never came back. So you should be very pleased with these, they are fab!
