Day 200 - Lights of the Night/July Still Life Standout

I am SO excited about these pictures! I couldn't pick a favorite out of the two so yes, I am going against my own rule and posting two pictures for today instead of one. I will let you decide which you like best. With my camera set on a tripod, using a remote and the shutter speed set to Bulb, the first one I left the shutter open for 30 secs and the second shot I left the shutter open for 42 secs. No edits were done except bumping clarity. Other than that, these are SOOC. I live in such a beautiful city. This is the view of downtown San Diego as seen from Coronado. I had an idea when I was working out tonight that I wanted to take this shot, so I text another friend to go with me since it was 10:30 at night when I took these shots. I think night shots are my new favorite thing!

My blog is currently in the running to be featured as the top photography blog over at FTLOB. Could you take a sec and go "like" me on her page. I'm #18.

I'm linking up the second photo with:

Beautiful. I like them both but see the differences. If I had to choose I would pick the first one. Skyline pictures are enchanting.

I love the second one! Your photos are truly gorgeous! I just wanted to take a moment out to thank you for the comment on FTLOB--it meant a lot to know that there is someone out there who understands hard work and I'm an emotional nut when it comes to someone being dissatisfied with that site, so thanks for being a wonderful friend and i hope you have a super fabulous day!! xo

Wow, wow, wow!!! The second is my fav. They are both mesmerizing. But the lights in the water and the sky....something eerie about the second one. Love em. And I voted...I don't even need to see the others. ;-)

I'm entered in the photo contest, too...but I'm voting for YOU! Wow, these are impressive! I live just a bit north of you (south Orange County) and have been on Coronado many times, although I've never seen the view quite like this! Stunning!

Wow, the cloud formations and reflections really add something to the shot. Love the lights of course, especially in the 2nd one. It's brighter and more golden in the lights on the left side. The reflections are stronger and more colourful too. Wonderful work!
